Metro Caring Food Drive

It is time for TSDBT’s annual food drive in support of Metro Caring! As a leading anti-hunger organization in Colorado, Metro Caring works with our community to meet people’s immediate need for nutritious, culturally relevant food while building a movement to end hunger at its root causes. It distributes food to the community through its Fresh Foods Market, a grocery store-style market with nutritious, culturally specific foods available to our community at no cost to the client. Foods and products are supplied by donations, through food drives like ours. They provide 10,000 lbs. of food every day to the community.

The TDSBT Buddhist Dana Association (BDA) and Dharma School are conducting the food drive over the next month to benefit Metro Caring. This year, more than ever before, there is an increase in food insecurity and a huge need for local anti-hunger efforts. We invite you to participate in the temple’s efforts to support our local community through this dana, a Buddhist practice of cultivating generosity through selfless giving to others.

Metro Caring is our local mission partner for Denver’s 149th Interfaith Thanksgiving Service, hosted here at Denver Buddhist Temple, at 10:00 am on Thanksgiving Day this year. We will be collecting donations of funds and items for Metro Caring at that service.

If you would like to donate, please bring your donations and place them in the auditorium at a table setup with signs by the door coming in from the main lobby by Monday, December 8, 2025. Below are the items that we are collecting. In order to help restock their shelves after the Thanksgiving holiday, we will not deliver items until after the first week of December, so please no fresh foods.  Thank you so much for the support.
